PNEUMONIA
Pneumonia is an infection of the Lungs. It is caused by bacteria such as streptococcus pneumonia or staphylococcus. When a patient coughs or sneezes, the germs of the disease also spread and spread to the other people. The disease causes the newborn to breathe more than 50 times in a day.Pneumonia frequently starts as an upper respiratory tract infection that moves into the lower respiratory tract. It is types of pneumonitis (lung inflammation). The normal flora of the upper airway gives protection by competing with pathogen for nutrients. In the lower airways reflexes of the glottis, action of complement proteins and immunoglobulin’s are important for protection. Micro aspiration contaminated secretions can infect the lower airways and cause of pneumonia.
Pneumonia accounts for the 15% of all death under 5 years old killing 808,694 children In 2017(WHO). Pneumonia kills more other infectious, claiming the lives of over 800,000 children under the five years or around 2,200 per day. This includes over 1,53,000 newborns. Globally there are over 1,400 cases of pneumonia per 100,000 children or 1 case per 71 children every year with great incidence occurring in south asia ( 2500 case per 100,000 children ) and west and central Africa (1620 case per 100,000 ).
